I remember the very first time I had the pleasure of meeting Ray Poteet. At the time I had no idea that he would be a conduit to change mine and my family’s lives forever. Since that first meeting, Ray has been a trusted advisor, mentor, and great friend. I would be hard pressed to find someone else, along with the Living Wealth Team, that has been so influential and such a huge blessing in my life.
My name is Micah Ries. I am a chiropractor in Northern California. I am married to my wife, Jaime, and together we have 3 amazing kids—Alexander (age 11), Abigail (age 9), and Anna (age 7). I have been with Living Wealth since they were Alpha and Omega, for about 10 years now. The exciting thing is that I am still learning and applying the concepts of the Infinite banking system and The Private Family Financing system all the time. I first met Ray at a chiropractic seminar, and at that time I had the pleasure of listening to him speak. I purchased the book Becoming Your Own Banker by R. Nelson Nash as he had suggested, and that is where the journey began. When I read the book it made a lot of sense, but I had more questions than answers. Then I met Holly. She was able to answer a lot of the questions, and I was ready to get started. I would like to emphasis that my wife and I got started. That made all the difference. Often when I talk to people about the infinite banking system, they end up becoming paralyzed and don’t take action. I tell people that they don’t need to know all the details of how it works, just as you probably don’t know exactly how electricity works, but you still use it. I had a friend that I was talking to about the process when I first started using the system, but he didn’t get started until about 2 years ago. His comment to me was, “Micah, I wish I had taken action when you first told me about it.” Now I have ten years of experience using the Infinite Banking system and I can speak with confidence and certainty that it has been the best thing for my family financially and it has done more for us than we could have ever imagined when we first started.
The most exciting thing that I have gained from Living Wealth is financial freedom. When my wife and I started banking we had a two year old and a newborn baby. We were living in a house that we were upside down on, paying a huge mortgage and both my wife and I had huge student loan debt. Jaime was working long hours and having two young kids we kept saying, “it would be nice to have you home with the kids someday”. We quickly realized that that “someday” would not come unless we did something different. Jaime and I decided to take out the money that we had saved in our retirement accounts to start our first two policies. The money that we had in our retirement accounts was not in alignment with some of our philosophical belief anyway. So it was worth it to take the penalties and do something that was much more aligned with our belief systems. This allowed us to pay down some major debts and pay off our student loans that we would have been slaves to for a long time. But, what it really did was allowed for that “someday” to come and have Jaime be home with our kids at a crucial time in their lives. And later to homeschool them. This was an immediate blessing thanks to our new- found family at Living Wealth.
Fast forward and now our family utilizes 14 policies. I have used the policies in my practice as well as our personal life to achieve a wealth that I never dreamed of 10 years ago. I also see the light of being able to not have to rely on a traditional bank and that is exciting to me. Living Wealth goes above and beyond in their education process, their customer service, their knowledge of the system, and their true caring and compassion for each individual’s needs and situation. To anyone reading this, I would only recommend working with Living Wealth. I have been using the system long enough to know that there are a lot of people that claim they know about Becoming Your Own Banker, but really don’t. And while their intentions may be good, they may not be providing the right information and may not be doing what is best for you. I trust the whole Living Wealth team 100%. The key to success is to trust the process, work the plan, and keep learning. I have the pleasure of speaking with Ray periodically and it is such a blessing, very inspirational, and I learn so much. In the evening, after having spoken early that morning (my time) with Ray, I come home at night and I say to my wife, “guess what?” And my wife replies, “Ray blew your mind”. And it’s true. I get so much out of our conversations.
